– Mezo and micro-thermomechanical systems and thermodynamic processes (strategic R&D theme)

– Thermoenergetic systems

– Heat transition and transformation processes

Awards for scientific achievements:

Academic staff of Energy Department prof. habil. dr. Gint. Miliauskas, prof. habil. dr. J. Gylys, prof. habil. dr. S. Šinkūnas were awarded by Lithuania science state prize in 2002.

R&D&I works and services:

– Investigations of the efficiency of heat generation, supply, and use of plants;

– optimizing the capacity and configuration of the heating network;

– Investigations of energy and economic efficiency of renewable energy technologies integration into district heating and other industrial systems;

– Optimal water spraying conditions definition and phase transformations in humid flue gases for heat recovery in recuperative condensing economizers, which allows improving technologies and new technologies creation for heat utilization in contact type economizers;

– Investigations of hydrocarbon droplets’ evaporation rate in liquid fuel to define optimal combustion in thermal technologies;

– Investigations of fuel combustion and emission reduction in combustion products.
