On September 10th at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design we will have guests from Japan, University of Gifu:

Dr. Tetsuya Mouri lecture “The Basics and Applications of Robotic Hands”

Robotic technology is rapidly evolving, and recent trends are contributing to technological innovations across various fields, such as production, hazardous environments, life support, and healthcare. Particularly, dexterous grasping and manipulation, similar to that of humans, are crucial for complementing or substituting human tasks, leading to an increasing demand for robotic hands.

In this short lecture, Dr. Tetsuya Mouri will introduce the basic knowledge of robotic hands and the applied technologies developed at Gifu University.

Dr. Tomoe Ozeki lecture “Japanese Metaverse Agent Interaction Culture”

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of the metaverse through VR equipment has become more active in Japan, leading to the creation of various communities. Many of the services facilitating this have become user-friendly and are now being recognized as new hubs for intellectual activities.

This lecture briefly introduces the unique ways in which the metaverse is utilized in Japan and the trends of artificial agents that leverage the characteristics of characters.
