Development of competence in scientific internship at Rzeszow University through research

Project no.: 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-14-0031

Project description:

The aim of the project was to develop scientific competence by participating in the research of Ti-Al-C composite materials based on metal matrix synthesized by plasma discharge in the Center of Microelectronics and Nanotechnology of the University of Rzeszow, under the direction of Prof. Hab. dr. Eugene Shereghi (Eugeniusz Szeregij). The aim is to assimilate new methods of analysis and preparation of precision specimens, to analyze structure and properties of Ti-Al-C composite materials by Raman spectroscopy, electron microscopy (SEM, TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The research results will be used to produce high-level publications in international journals and to build up a sufficient scientific database for international H2020 applications with Polish and Ukrainian partners.

Project funding:

Project is funded by EU Structural Funds according to the 2014–2020 Operational Programme for the European Union Funds’ Investments priority “Development of scientific competence of researchers, other researchers, students through practical scientific activities” under Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712.

Project results:

New materials research methods – FTIR, Raman spectroscopy and Atomic force microscopy – were mastered and knowledge was acquired to process the data obtained by these methods. The research will be continued using the equipment of KTU and LEI. At conference “Machines, Technologies, Materials’2019” in Varna, Bulgaria, the results of the internship were discussed with Ukrainian partners.
