Superhydrophilic and Anti-Aging Fibre-Reinforced Polymer Nanocomposites-Treated by Plasma for Marine and Aerospace Applications (SAG-FRP)

Project no.: PP59/2001

Project description:

Currently, fiberglass/epoxy resin laminates have been used increasingly in manufacture of structures of the components that works in the critical environments, including marine and aerospace applications. This means the majority of these laminates is a subject to harsh and varied loading conditions in the course of their use in the specified environments, which requires improvement of their properties as a combination, including mechanical, thermal, chemical, hydrophobic, and aging to be fit for the specified applications. Due to the complex relationship between the listed properties, it is very difficult for manufacturers to control all these behaviours at the same, especially surface morphology. Within this frame, the project is developed to achieve these goals and develop superhydrophilic and anti-aging fiberglass / epoxy nanocomposite laminates with high mechanical, thermal, and impact properties.
