Achievements of KTU MIDF students at LSMU hackathon

Fourth year Industrial Design Engineering students of the KTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design, encouraged by the Project Management module lecturer, participated in Hospiton Cardio. Cholesterol Hack Hackathon, where they searched for solutions to reduce cholesterol in society and two teams of students from the faculty won the second and third places.

The second place went to ” Health Lab”, Lukas Rutkauskas and his team. “Health Lab is a platform for students in grades 5-8 that aims to integrate lessons on healthy living skills. The platform contains information on heart disease, short videos, games and tests. Children can compete between classes to see who is the best at following healthy lifestyle principles.

The third place was won by BELIFE, Aida Matulaitytė and her team. BELIFE is a non-invasive and rapid cholesterol screening method that aims to encourage more people to get tested for the prevention of dyslipidemia. The device is inserted by hand and the results are displayed on an app, and could be available in pharmacies and hospitals.
